National Roof Over Your Head Day

I know, who comes up with this stuff, right? I saw this and thought it was perfect for this week’s message. While the origins of this “official day” are tough to find, the idea is to be both grateful for the roof over our heads and be thoughtful for those who do not necessarily have that luxury. As real estate professionals, it’s even more poignant to us, I believe, as we are in the business of helping people find homes and put roofs over people’s heads. It’s an honor to serve, don’t you think? Did you know that statistics show that children who are raised in homes that are owned (not rented) do 9% better in math, 7% better in English, are 25% more likely to graduate from high school, and 115% more likely to graduate from college? That’s part of what makes us tick, I think. -- that desire to not just earn a living, but to help people, especially kids, live better lives.  So, here’s to you, a great week ahead, a nod to our profession, and perhaps an opportunity to help someone in need. ‘Tis the season!

Something to Think About 

What a powerful thing it is to serve. I’ve known agents who were completely dollar focused, and those who were focused on the people and relationships they were building. In my experience, both can earn a very good living, but only one of those two mindsets will also grow both a following – and even lifelong friendships.
